- Creative taboos
- Avoid hype/superlatives — Dutch prize directness and understatement, so hard-sell reads as untrustworthy
- No gambling ads to under-24 (KSA)
- No misleading health or financial claims
- Respect GDPR/privacy
- Zwarte Piet (Sinterklaas blackface) is a live racial controversy — steer clear
- Be tasteful on monarchy, WWII, and immigration/Islam.
- Also worth knowing
- iDEAL integration is effectively mandatory — a checkout without it loses most Dutch buyers.
- One of Europe's most digital, English-proficient and review-driven markets, yet Dutch-language creative converts better and builds trust.
- Gambling is the strictest vertical: promote only KSA-licensed brands, never target under-24, and expect the untargeted-ad ban plus the 2025 sports-sponsorship ban to keep tightening.
Indicative reference — always confirm the current rules with the official source before you run.
