Ad regulations
RESTRICTED — Licensed regime under the 2019 Gambling Act; operators need a Spelinspektionen licence (~SEK 264,000/yr). Ads judged by 'moderation' (måttfullhet); tightened guidelines from 1 Sep 2025 (adults-only targeting, one sign-up bonus max, all bonus terms visible 'at first glance'). Affiliates may promote ONLY Swedish-licensed operators; no marketing to self-excluded players.
LEGAL — Legal to own/trade; crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) must be MiCA-authorised by Finansinspektionen (transition applications due 30 Sep 2025). AML/KYC + tax reporting apply; marketing must be fair, clear and not misleading.
RESTRICTED — Publishing one's own adult content is legal, but Sweden's Nordic model criminalises BUYING sex; from 1 Jul 2025 paying for remote/custom sexual acts (live cam, commissioned OnlyFans clips) is a crime. Advertising of sexual services is restricted; adult verticals are sensitive.
ALLOWED — Online dating is legal and unrestricted; standard Marketing Act rules, GDPR for user data, and clear-consent requirements apply.
RESTRICTED — Consumer credit tightly regulated (Finansinspektionen + Konsumentverket). From 1 Mar 2025 nearly all consumer-loan ads must carry a bold headline 'Att låna kostar pengar' (borrowing costs money) plus risk/default warnings; high-cost-credit caps and 'good credit practice' apply.
RESTRICTED — Medicinal-product advertising governed by Läkemedelsverket (MPA) under the Medicinal Products Act (2015:315) + LVFS 2009:6: must be factual, balanced, not misleading; prescription drugs cannot be advertised to the public; industry self-reg (LIF/LER) with IGN/NBL fines up to SEK 500,000. Supplement/food health claims follow EU rules.
