Ad regulations
RESTRICTED — state-controlled under the Gaming Act (Zakon o igrah na srečo). Online betting/casino lawful only via domestic licensed concessionaires (e.g. Športna loterija, Loterija Slovenije, HIT); foreign operators are unlicensed and can be IP/payment-blocked by FURS. Advertising of unlicensed gambling is prohibited; age-verification, self-exclusion and responsible-gambling rules apply. Regulator: Office for the Supervision of Gambling (within Ministry of Finance / FURS).
LEGAL — permitted; EU MiCA in force (from Dec 2024, national transition to Jul 2026). ATVP (Securities Market Agency) licenses CASPs & ART issuers, Banka Slovenije oversees e-money tokens, FURS handles tax. A flat 25% tax on crypto profits was legislated from 1 Jan 2026. Promotions must be fair, clear and not misleading.
RESTRICTED — legal for adults (18+); explicit advertising barred from mainstream/broadcast media under the Audiovisual Media Services Act (watershed & minor-protection), regulator AKOS. Sex work is not criminalised but procuring/pimping is. Keep creatives non-explicit.
ALLOWED — no sector-specific restriction; standard consumer-protection, GDPR and advertising-standards rules apply; avoid deceptive/fake-profile funnels.
RESTRICTED — Consumer Credit Act (ZPotK-2) mandates APR/total-cost transparency and licensing of lenders (Market Inspectorate / Banka Slovenije oversight); investment promotions supervised by ATVP. Misleading or aggressive credit advertising is prohibited.
