Large illegal offshore market exists.
RESTRICTED — legal to hold/trade but tightly regulated. Virtual Asset Service Act passed 30 Jun 2026: FSC licensing mandatory for all VASPs, only banks may issue domestic stablecoins (dual FSC+central-bank approval, 100% reserves). Not legal tender.
RESTRICTED — pornography production/distribution restricted; obscenity offenses under Criminal Code art. 235. Adult content age-gated; explicit ads not permitted on mainstream media.
ALLOWED — dating apps/services legal and popular; must comply with Personal Data Protection Act and platform ad policies; no vertical-specific ban.
RESTRICTED — financial ads governed by Financial Consumer Protection Act; must be truthful, non-misleading. Investment ads on platforms face NT$120k-600k fines for non-removal + joint liability. Google/Meta require FSC-license verification for financial-services ads (anti-fraud rules).
RESTRICTED — drug & medical-device ads need TFDA pre-approval (incl. internet/social). 'Health Food' label requires TFDA permit; food/supplement ads cannot claim medical efficacy or exaggerate (heavy fines). Regulated by TFDA + Fair Trade Commission.
