Ad regulations

Gambling & betting Restricted

RESTRICTED — legal & licensed. Online betting/casino/lottery lawful only under Ministry of Finance (Dept. 73) licences (Gambling Act No. 186/2016, in force since 2017; major amendment 1 Jan 2024). Operators must be CZ or EU/EEA-based with an initial + basic licence; 27 online-casino operators licensed (May 2026). Advertising unlicensed operators is prohibited; MoF runs an IP/payment blocklist of illegal sites. Winnings above CZK 50,000 taxed.

Crypto Restricted

RESTRICTED — legal; EU MiCA applies since 2025, supervised by the Czech National Bank (ČNB). Crypto-asset service providers need authorisation; ads must be fair, clear, non-misleading, white-paper-consistent and identified as marketing. Fines up to €5M or 5% of turnover. Crypto ownership broadly popular.

Adult Restricted

RESTRICTED — pornography legal (18+) and Czechia is a major adult-production hub; explicit advertising barred from mainstream media. Sex work tolerated but not fully regulated. Keep creatives non-explicit; public attitudes to nudity are liberal.
