File weight

The maximum file size a platform will accept for a creative, measured in KB, MB, or GB. Go over the cap and the upload is rejected outright, so you compress or lower the bitrate until it fits. Limits vary wildly: a Google Display image ad caps around 150 KB, while a Meta video can run to 4 GB.

Example

A Google Display banner must stay under 150 KB, so you ship an optimized JPG or WebP instead of a full-quality PNG.
